Research Area

Terrestrial and Marine Natural Product Chemistry, Metabolic Fingerprinting (LC-MS, HPTLC), Development of High-throughput Methods to Identify Biological Active Molecules, NMR, Structural Elucidation, and Medicinal Chemistry

  • Bioactivity guided identification, isolation and structure elucidation of natural products from terrestrial and marine source.

  • Development of high throughput methods for biological screening and identification of natural products to accelerate drug discovery research

  • Optimization of extraction and purification techniques.

  • Development of NMR and LC-MS methods for identification of novel natural products.

  • Synthesis and chemical modification of biologically active secondary metabolites to study structure activity relationship (SAR) for lead optimization.

  • Biomedical interest includes anti-cancer, anti-viral, anti-microbial, PTPase 1B inhibitors and neurodegenerative disease.

  • Discovery of small molecule natural product as stem cell modulator
